The 8th ISCAR Summer University for PhD students & young scholars was held in Moscow State University of Psychology & Education on July, 8 – 13, 2019. The program brought together professors & young scholars from all over the world to discuss different aspects of theory & methodology of cultural-historical psychology & activity approach.

The ISCAR SU program included lectures, seminars and discussion sessions by leading world experts in the field of cultural-historical psychology:

• «Cultural-historical scientific school: the issues that L.S. Vygotsky brought up» (Rubtsov V.V. – Rector of MSUPE, Professor, Head of the International UNESCO Chair “Cultural-historical psychology of childhood”, Russia)
• «Current studies in cultural-historical psychology and activity theory. Experience of the International Scientific Society ISCAR» (Plakitsi K. – President of the ISCAR Comunity, Professor of University of Ioanina, Greece)
• «Introduction to cultural-historical theory: system of concepts and methodology» (Rubtsova O.V. Assistant Professor at Moscow State University of Psychology & Education, Russia)
• «Multi-vector model of the zone of proximal development in the reflexive-activity approach» (Zaretsky V.K. – Member of the Executive Committee of ISCAR, Professor of Moscow State University of Psychology & Education, Russia)
• «The philosophical underpinnings of Vygotsky’s theory» (Dafermos E. – Professor of the University of Crete, Greece)

Also the ISCAR SU program included following round tables & workshops:

• «Digital means in education and development» (Moderators: Margolis A.A. – Acting Rector of Moscow State University of Psychology & Education (Russia), Rubtsova O.V. Assistant Professor at Moscow State University of Psychology & Education (Russia))
• «Education, development, health» (Moderators: Zaretsky V.K. – Member of the Executive Committee of ISCAR, Professor of Moscow State University of Psychology & Education (Russia), Kholmogorova A.B. – Professor of Moscow State University of Psychology & Education (Russia));

and special activities:

• «Cultural-historical psychology and activity theory in practices of pedagogical education» (Margolis A.A. – First Vice-Rector of MSUPE, Professor of International UNESCO Chair MSUPE “Cultural-historical psychology of childhood”, Russia)
• «Reading and understanding L.S. Vygotsky (Dafermos E. – Professor at the University of Crete, Greece).

In the framework of ISCAR SU 2019 scientific projects of all young scholars – participants were presented.

The ISCAR SU 2019 materials are published in a special collection of abstracts in English language.
