The program is aimed at deepening students’ ideas about play and its importance for the development of children and adolescents. Students study various play theories, methods of play support at different ages, as well as the use of the play for various educational purposes. Students learn to create conditions for supporting free play, necessary for the development of initiative and self-regulation; to master the principles of organizing children’s joint play. Students get acquainted with productive activities that develop creativity and self-expression, as well as with the means and conditions for the development of physical activity. Special attention is paid to the object-spatial environment, which is understood as a necessary condition for the support and development of any types of children’s play.
The program includes a theoretical part, practical exercises,research work, educational, industrial and pre-graduate practice, state final certification.
You can work as an educational psychologist in kindergartens and schools, leisure centers, clubs, children’s camps, educational clubs, sections and other educational, mental health and community settings — wherever there is a need to use play and game techniques to work with children. Educational psychologists often work with children with developmental, learning difficulties and disabilities, including socio-emotional, behavioral and academic challenges arising from individual as well as contextual factors. The Master of Psychology in educational psychology also provides access to doctoral programs in psychology both locally and overseas.
You can work as a psychologist in educational institutions of various levels, psychological services, centers of psychological, medical and social support, counseling centers, HR departments and personnel services.
