About

The Department of Pedagogical Psychology was established as part of the Faculty of Psychology of Education in 1997. It appeared in response to the need of the school system for specialists capable of supporting the implementation of pedagogical innovations in the educational process. There was an obvious need of society in the complex ensuring of the individualization in the educational system and development of upbringing system of modern children by competent and trained specialists.

#Faculty of Psychology of Education

The mission of the Department:

  • to provide students with broad theoretical knowledge about the current state of educational psychology,
  • to promote students\’ abilities in methods of solving applied psychological and pedagogical problems of the modern school education system,
  • to develop skills of independent analysis and solving project and expert tasks in the field of psychological support and assistance in organizing the educational process at school,
  • to involve students in scientific, methodological and practical work on psychological and pedagogical support services in the system of common education of Moscow and other regions of Russia.

The educational process at the Department combines traditional teaching methods (lectures, seminars, workshops) and modern innovative teaching methods (project activities in education, problem-based learning games, training sessions, creative project workshops). Students of the Department undergo professional, pedagogical and pre-graduate internship (practice) in various educational institutions of Moscow.

Science

The main directions of ongoing scientific research conducted by the Department:

  • Psychological and pedagogical support of students who experience various learning difficulties;
  • Professional training of teachers and educational psychologists to provide a modern educational environment;
  • Development of psychological and pedagogical foundations of developing situations in education;
  • Analysis of students\’ emotional well-being and psychological safety of the environment;
  • Analysis of the influence of the socio-cultural environment on the development of consciousness of children and youth.
