About

The Department of Theoretical Foundations of Social Psychology was established at the Faculty of Social Psychology in 1998.

The areas of scientific interests of the Department are:

  • optimization of interpersonal and intergroup interaction in a real and virtual social environment;
  • social psychology of Internet communities;
  • sociopsychological aspects of the information culture of schoolchildren;
  • psychology of reference of personality and group;
  • the influence of leadership on the effectiveness of interaction in small groups;
  • socio-psychological factors of successful professional activity, personal and professional self-realization;
  • interpersonal, intra-group and inter-group relations as factors of socialization of a developing personality in a family, in a study group and in a professional environment;
  • socio-psychological conditions of training and education;
  • the authority of the teacher;
  • socio-psychological factors of the effectiveness of pedagogical communication, sociopsychological conditions for increasing the educational and educational-professional motivation of students;
  • features of the attitude of schoolchildren and students to socially significant problems (educational, environmental, industrial, ideological, political, etc.).

Science

The Department of Theoretical Foundations of Social Psychology conducts the following:

-scientific and applied research of sociopsychological factors in the effectiveness of education, upbringing, motivation for educational and educational and professional activities, personal and professional self-realization, harmonization of relationships in educational institutions, in professional teams, in the family and other social groups;
– the study of sociopsychological patterns of the formation of interpersonal and intergroup relations in various spheres of people\’s life;
– scientific examination of documents, texts and speeches in the media; examination and forecasting of the development of socially significant processes (in the field of education, ideology, ecology, politics, family relations, etc.);
– development of scientific and applied projects within the framework of grants from state and non-state organizations. Preparation of master\’s, candidate and doctoral dissertations on the subject of the department;
– conducting scientific and scientific-practical conferences, schools for young psychologists;
– organization of meetings of students and teachers with outstanding scientists and masters of psychology;
– participation of students, graduate students and teachers of the department in scientific and scientific-practical events (conferences, symposiums, scientific congresses, psychological schools).

The teachers of the department give public lectures within the framework of the MSUPE scientific lecture hall, and also conduct advanced training programs for teachers, administrators, psychologists of various educational organizations on the courses “Technologies for the prevention and resolution of difficult situations of pedagogical interaction based on the case method”, “Theory and practice of psychological counseling in professional activities, etc.
