Department of Social Psychology of Development

About

The Department of Social Psychology of Development was established at the Faculty of Social Psychology in 1998.
The department develops a range of interdisciplinary (bordering on child and developmental psychology, developmental psychology and acmeology, pedagogical psychology) problems: human development (as a subject of personality and individuality) at different stages of the life path and different human communities in the modern socio-cultural context. Cultural-historical theory, concepts of A.V. Petrovsky, the approach to the examination and design of educational systems are further developed in the scientific work of the department\’s researchers.

Science

The field of scientific interests of the department includes personality problems, features of existing educational systems, features of conducting sociopsychological training and other group work within the framework of social psychology, professional ethics of a psychologist, features of socio-cultural traumas, development of creative thinking and specific abilities, such as the ability to symbolize, the phenomenon of collective memory, the sphere of social representations, the problems of normativity in social developmental psychology, the development of abilities and cognitive activity of children and the psychology of a gifted child.

The scientific work of the Department of Social Psychology of Development is represented by holding round tables, master classes and conferences at preschool educational institutions, holding seminars for preschool workers, holding round tables and conferences with interuniversity and international participation, developing priority scientific areas, developing innovative programs of higher education in accordance with Federal educational standards, publication of collections of scientific papers, articles, scientific work with students.
