Faculty of Psychology of Education

The oldest faculty of the university, training specialists for more than 20 years: kindergarten and primary school teachers, psychologists for education and social protection.

The faculty spreads successful work practices, improves the qualifications of psychologists, kindergarten and school teachers, and creates new professional standards. The faculty’s projects are regularly supported by the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Moscow Department of Education.


Faculty of Social Psychology

The first faculty in Russia specializing in the training of social psychologists.

Social psychologists study human behavior in society: how we perceive other people and influence them. Unlike sociologists, social psychologists mainly consider internal rather than external aspects that determine human behavior in different social situations. They are interested in such important social phenomena as group behavior, leadership, conflicts and social perception.


Faculty of Clinical and Special Psychology

The faculty teaches to provide psychological and pedagogical aid to people with disabilities, as well as their families and close people. A graduate is able to work in completely different conditions: in the system of healthcare, special and inclusive education, social protection and others.


Faculty of Counseling and Clinical Psychology

Clinical psychology deals with disorders of mental development. The main tasks of a specialist in this field are to diagnose and fix a person’s condition and behavior, to help people develop as fully as possible.

The faculty trains psychotherapists and clinical psychologists. The training takes place at the same faculty, because psychotherapy and clinical psychology are two closely related areas of modern psychological science.


Faculty of Legal and Forensic Psychology

Legal psychology studies the behavior of people who have encountered the law enforcement system in various circumstances. 

Legal psychologists conduct psychological examinations of the accused, investigate the psychology of witness testimony, develop rational methods of interaction with victims. They do everything necessary so that lawyers can understand the subtleties of human behavior. 


Faculty of Extreme Psychology

Extreme psychology studies the psychological patterns of human activity in special, extreme situations: during aviation or space flights, underwater, underground, while being in hard-to-reach areas. In addition, it studies the psychological characteristics of people who have to work in danger.

The faculty teaches to provide psychological assistance to children and adolescents who have suffered in extreme situations, and to people whose official activities are associated with extreme conditions.

Modern information and communication technologies allow everyone to receive higher psychological education – the people with different health conditions and in different life situations. 

The faculty provides an opportunity to get a higher education in psychology to students from remote regions, without interrupting their main job and location. The faculty also teaches students with disabilities, helps them with self-realization and employment.


Faculty of Social Communication

Communication is not only a way of interaction, but also a professional skill. The faculty was established in 2010 with the aim of training highly professional modern specialists who are able to effectively, using fundamental theoretical knowledge and innovative technologies, carry out activities for social protection, servicing different categories of the population in various spheres of life.


Institute of Inclusive Education Problems

The Institute of Inclusive Education Problems was established in July 2009. The purpose of the institute is to promote and implement an inclusive approach in Russian education, to provide scientific and methodological support for the development of inclusive education at all levels of the Russian educational system.



Institute of Experimental Psychology

The Institute of Experimental Psychology was established in 2016. The Institute implements extensive research program in the field of experimental psychology, corresponding to the modern world level. The main goal of the Institute is to study the fundamental mechanisms of cognitive processes, human states, person’s activity and communication.

Faculty of Information Technologies

The Faculty of Information Technology trains unique professionals who possess modern methods and practices of experimental and cognitive psychology. These methods allow to create fundamentally new testing systems that do not take much time, change the complexity of tasks right during the tests and track any interference.

Faculty of Advanced Learning

The faculty provides programs of futher professional education — advanced learning (programs that take from 16 to 250 hours) and professional retraining (programs over 250 hours). 

The participants are managers and methodologists, psychologists, teachers, tutors, speech therapists, speech pathologists and other interested specialists. Classes are conducted by the leading experts of MSUPE and the experts from other organizations.


Institute of Foreign Languages, Modern Communications and Management

The Institute was created by combining the Faculty of Foreign Languages, the Faculty of State and Municipal Administration and the Department of Philosophy and Humanities of the Faculty of Social Psychology.

The Institute trains in-demand and highly qualified specialists for social and political organizations.

Unesco Chair of Cultural-Historical Psychology

Appeared as the result of special joint project in 2012, Chair aims at the development and expansion of the theoretical and experimental base of the cultural-historical scientific school, the analysis of current trends in this field, the representation of the scientific school of cultural-historical psychology in the international scientific community.
